Mission Statement:

“Women  at the Well” Grace House is a place where homeless and disadvantaged, adult  women without dependents can find refuge, support, hope, and love. We encourage women to live
an affirmed, self-sufficient lifestyle, free from  self-destructive behavior  patterns. Grace House is NOT a temporary shelter,  it is a place where women can find their way off the streets, empowered to  never return again.

Facts about the need and how Grace House fills that need:
As most people know, the homeless problem for women is a deep gap in the Salem, Oregon community.  Many of the almost 300 women in the streets have been there for months and even years.   We can’t really blame them because Salem only has two shelters available for single women and they are either full or have a revolving door.  Salem never really gets to the root of the homeless problem because of the time constraints and lack of self-sufficiency services.  Women at the Well Grace House has a solution to this problem with individualized strength base Case Management, mentors, and self-sufficiency classes offered through volunteers, staff, mentors, and teachers.   We are blessed to be able to purchase a house for nine women offering them safe, secure shelter; meals; and support with the tools she will need to overcome her cycle of homelessness to living a cycle of empowerment and self-sufficiency.
